Important Days of DPRK Observed

Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Seminars were held in different countries on Dec. 7 and 10 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero. They included seminars on feats in Mexico and Cambodia and a seminar on the Juche Idea in Uganda. Juan Campos Vega, chairman of the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, and other speakers, praised Kim Jong Il for strengthening and developing the KPA into a matchless army, a guardian of the socialist cause and a driving force of revolution. They noted Kim Jong Suk rendered distinguished services for the victory of the great anti-Japanese war and the cause of building the party, army and state and the development of the women's movement, true to the idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung. The feats performed by Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk are winning great admiration from the world progressive people struggling for socialism, they said. The general secretary of the Khmer Democratic Party of Cambodia said the defence capability of the DPRK has reached the highest level as it held Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the supreme commander of the KPA. Kim Jong Suk dedicated all her life to ensuring the safety of Kim Il Sung and thoroughly implementing his ideas and line, he noted. Auma-Okumu, head of the Juche Idea Study Group of the Department of Psychology of the Kyambogo University of Uganda, and other speakers stressed the DPRK is demonstrating its might as an invincible political and military power thanks to the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il. |
