Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place in Sukchon County, South Phyongan Province Saturday to mark the 50th anniversary of the new system of agricultural guidance created by President Kim Il Sung.

Present at the meeting were Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam, officials of ministries and national institutions and those in the agricultural field of provinces, cities and counties and working people in Sukchon County.

Kim Il Sung visited the county on December 18, 1961. He saw to it that county co-operative farm management committee was set up as an institution specializing in the agricultural guidance with the county as a unit. He also defined the structure of the committee and number of its staff and specified its duty and method of work.

This socialist agricultural guidance system makes it possible to give business guidance, rather than administrative guidance to agriculture, organically combine the public ownership with cooperative ownership and boost the state guidance and assistance to the cooperative management.

Kim Rak Hui, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice-premier of the Cabinet, in a report said the creation of the system was a historic event of a turning effect in improving and completing the system and method of guiding the cooperative economy and solving problems arising in socialist rural construction and agriculture.

Under the President's wise guidance the system has displayed its advantages and vitality, thereby bringing about a fresh turn in developing socialist agricultural management and production, the reporter said, adding:

The President's original ideology and undying leadership feats on the system have been steadily developed in depth to reach a new higher stage by leader Kim Jong Il.

Ten odd years are shining as a historic period in which a drastic turn has been effected in the guidance and management of the socialist agriculture with the unique ideologies, theories and policies set forth by Kim Jong Il as guidelines.

The big achievements made in the socialist agricultural development in the era of Songun are a striking manifestation of the advantages and attraction of the Juche-oriented system of agricultural guidance, the reporter said, calling on all the officials and working people in the field of agriculture to greet the centenary of birth of the President with pride and dignity.
