Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The Palestinian leadership condemned some Jewish settlers who set fire to a mosque in the West Bank early Thursday.

After setting fire to the third floor of a mosque in a village near the West Bank city of Ramallah, the settlers left slogans against Palestinians written with spray paints. This is the second such violence in 24 hours. On Wednesday, some settlers burnt the entrance of an abandoned mosque in East Jerusalem.

"Vandalizing holy sites is a declaration of war by settlers against the Palestinian people," said Nabil Abu Rdineh, spokesperson for the Palestinian leadership.

He called on the Israeli government to curb the settlers' violence.
