Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The Mauritius parliament on Wednesday unanimously adopted, with an amendment, a law meant to fight against maritime piracy.

Piracy in the Indian Ocean had reached worrying proportions, Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam said, justifying the adoption of the new legislation.

He announced the construction of a special prison for pirates who will be arrested, charged and sentenced to imprisonment in Mauritius.
