Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Personages of the Democratic United Party, a south Korean opposition party, on Monday expressed condolences over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Former "Prime Minister" Han Myong Suk, lawmaker Pak Ji Won and other personages of the opposition party mourned the sudden demise of Kim Jong Il as members of the Korean nation.

They stressed that the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration agreed by Kim Jong Il with former "presidents" of south Korea should be respected in the future, too.

They urged the "government" to positively push ahead with the dispatch of a delegation of mourners in line with the people's will.
