DPRK's Anniversaries Marked

Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Foreign papers carried special write-ups and articles on the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero.

The Thai paper Xing San Daily on Dec. 15 carried an article with a portrait of Kim Jong Il. It said that he has trained the KPA to be the army strong in idea and faith and fully prepared politically and ideologically and in military technique, and consolidated the defence industry as firm as a rock.

It stressed that the achievements made by the army and people of the DPRK in socialist construction are a brilliant fruition of the plan and energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The Ethiopian paper Daily Monitor on Dec. 15 edited articles under the headline "Supreme Commander of DPRK Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk" with photos of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu.

In an article titled "Supreme commander and military families" the paper said the relations between the supreme commander and military families in the DPRK were like those between the father and his children who share the destiny with the sentiment of kinsmen.

The Nepali paper Arpan on Dec. 16 in an article titled "For women's emancipation all her life" said that Kim Jong Suk, who is praised by the Korean people as anti-Japanese war hero, is an outstanding woman revolutionary.
