Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Though leader Kim Jong Il passed away to our regret, his revolutionary ideas, achievements, immensely noble personality as a great man and image as bright as sunshine will always be remembered by the servicepersons and people of the DPRK and the world progressive people, say newspapers Wednesday in their editorials.

Rodong Sinmun notes: Shouldering upon himself the destiny of the country and the nation, he underwent all sorts of hardships as a human being, revolutionary and leader for nearly seven decades and performed great exploits before the times and humankind. He died at work, without having time to relieve his pent-up fatigue.

His whole life was a noble one of the great leader as he dedicated himself to the struggle for materializing the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and accomplishing his cause.

He was the first in history to usher in a new era of accomplishing the cause of perpetuating the memory of the leader and developed the party, army and state into those of Kim Il Sung.

Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career was the one of the peerless patriot and great father of the people as he steered the cause of building a thriving nation by making intense forced marches for field guidance on the basis of his noble view on the people and future.

He, at the same time, performed immortal exploits for national reconciliation and unity and the reunification of the country.

He made an undying contribution to the accomplishment of the cause of global independence and that of socialism, holding aloft the banner of independence and justice.

The most precious exploit he performed before his country and its people was that he gave a steady continuity to the revolutionary cause of Juche, the Songun revolutionary cause that started in Mt. Paektu.
