Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Giancarlo Elia Valori, chairman of the Development Bank of Mediterranean and chairman of the Italian General Investment Group, visited the DPRK mission in Rome on Monday to mourn over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The chairman laid a large floral basket before the portrait of Kim Jong Il at the mission and expressed deep condolences.

He said he visited the DPRK mission before everything to share the sorrow with the Korean people who suffered the greatest loss of the nation.

Kim Jong Il was the outstanding leader as he performed undying exploits for the times and history while devoting all his life to the happiness of the people, prosperity of the nation, reunification of the country and world peace and security, he said, adding:

He is the greatest man peerless in the world, who is identical to the great President Kim Il Sung. Though he passed away, he will always live in the mind of mankind and his enormous exploits will shine long.

It is my ardent wish to mourn before the bier of H.E. Kim Jong Il.
