Heritage Left by Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- December 24 marks the 94th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. The Korean people commemorate the day as significantly as President Kim Il Sung's birthday (Apr. 15) and leader Kim Jong Il's birthday (Feb. 16.) On this occasion, the Korean people pay the highest tribute to her. Her life was not long but she performed great feats in her lifetime for the country and people and for the times and history. The greatest of her feats is that she provided the future of the Korean revolution. She devoted herself to bringing up her son, Kim Jong Il, as wished by the President. One day in the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, the little son asked his mother about the meaning of the name of his father, the President. At that time she answered, "Though there are many stars in the sky, no star can do for the sun. Likewise, no one can take the place of the father. Father is our sun as his name means." When the immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung" was created, she taught her son it first. She also told him stories about the revolutionary feats of the President and the Korean people's pride in being guided by him. True to her desire, Kim Jong Il successfully carried forward the revolutionary cause of Juche started in Mt. Paektu. This is the greatest heritage she left for the Workers' Party of Korea and the country. |
