Revolutionary Sites Tell Exploits of Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- There are many revolutionary sites associated with the undying exploits of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, in the DPRK. Kim Jong Suk defended President Kim Il Sung politically and ideologically and at the risk of her life in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and made a great contribution to the liberation of Korea. After the liberation, she performed great feats in implementing the revolutionary line of the President. There is a revolutionary site in Hoeryong City, North Hamgyong Province, where Kim Jong Suk was born and spent her childhood. Preserved in Ryanggang and North and South Hamgyong provinces are relics associated with her revolutionary activities in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Yonsa is a historical place where Kim Jong Suk conducted revolutionary activities in the latter half of the 1930s and the first half of the 1940s. While in Yonsa, she organized a branch committee of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland and a branch party organization. Basing herself in Phungsan, Ryanggang Province, she had contacts with members of revolutionary organizations active in Tanchon and Riwon and guided underground revolutionary organizations in Tanchon, Pukchong and other local areas. After returning home along with the liberation of the country, she devoted her all to implementing the line of the President on building a new country. She conducted energetic activities in different parts of the country, including Pyongyang and South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces. On the occasion of her birth anniversary (Dec. 24), many people have visited the revolutionary sites to learn about the exploits she performed for the country, revolution and people. |
