Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, Wednesday received a condolence message from Mahinda Rajapaksa, president of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The message said:

It is with great sadness that I have learned the demise of His Excellency Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the WPK, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

The Sri Lankan government and people extend the deepest condolences to the DPRK government and people at this sad time.
