Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and supreme leader of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK, together with members of the WPK Central Military Commission and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, major commanding officers of the KPA, staff members of the KPA Supreme Command and commanding officers of KPA large combined units, Saturday visited the bier of leader Kim Jong Il and expressed profound condolences.

The Kumsusan Memorial Palace where the bier of Kim Jong Il lies in state is wrapped in a solemn atmosphere.

His bier is bedecked with flowers and his body is draped with a red flag associated with his lifelong desire.

Seen in the mourning place was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Un.

Members of the National Funeral Committee were standing vigil by the side of the bier and guards of honor of the three services of the Korean People's Army and the Worker-Peasant Red Guards were standing on either side of the bier.

He entered the hall where the bier is placed, together with members of the WPK Central Military Commission and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, major commanding officers of the KPA, staff members of the KPA Supreme Command and commanding officers of KPA large combined units.

Overwhelmed with bitterest grief he, together with commanding officers, paid silent tribute to the bier of Kim Jong Il, praying for his immortality, carrying with him the unbounded yearning of all servicepersons, and went round the bier.

The participants renewed their firm pledge to thoroughly embody the supreme commander's undying feats performed in commanding the army in its building and military activities, regarding them as a lifeline, and let the whole army remain true to the leadership of Kim Jong Un over the army, holding aloft the slogan "Let us defend with our very lives the Party Central Committee headed by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un!" and thus firmly defend the socialist homeland and guarantee the cause of building a powerful and prosperous country with arms.
