Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Dec. 13 and 17 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. They included lectures, film shows and book and photo exhibitions in Russia, Mongolia, India, Malaysia, Guinea and Democratic Congo.

On display in their venues were books and photos introducing the greatness and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il and the woman commander of Mt. Paektu.

Participants of the film shows watched Korean films including "Country Shining Thanks to the Army of Mt. Paektu".

The chairman of the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea said in a lecture that Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the KPA was an event of historic significance in defending and glorifying socialism.

He recalled that Kim Jong Il established the Songun politics as a basic political mode under socialism and steadily developed the political and ideological, military and technological capability of the KPA and the nation's defence industry.

The manager of a Malaysian rubber company noted that the DPRK turned into a military power, an invulnerable fortress which no one dares attack.

The chairman of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea at Kankan University of Guinea noted that the history of the development of the KPA widely known as a matchless army is associated with the exploits performed by anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. He highly lauded the feats performed by her in building the army.
