Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The acting chairperson of the African Union Commission Thursday paid a condolatory visit to the DPRK embassy in Addis Ababa on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

He paid a silent tribute before the portrait of Kim Jong Il, expressing deep condolences. He made an entry in the mourners' book.

He noted he paid a condolatory visit to the DPRK embassy upon the authorization of Chairperson Jean Ping who was visiting foreign countries.

He said: We all the member states and people of the African Union are sharing today's sorrow with the Korean people.

HE Kim Jong Il was the great leader whom not only the Korean people but all African people respected and revered.

His exploits performed for the independent development of the African countries will always be remembered.
