Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- Builders and soldiers in the Mansudae area construction site are speeding up the construction by overcoming sorrow over the loss of leader Kim Jong Il and displaying strength and courage. Construction is going on day and night.

Leveling of an area covering at least 50,000 square meters has been completed in just three days though it would have taken one month at ordinary tempo. As a result, thousands of meter long roads have been improved and 40,000 cubic meters of earth have been removed.

Construction methods suited to winter conditions have been introduced. Water-proofing operations have been carried out for hundreds of flats and at least 1,200 door frames have been fixed. Work results have doubled inside flats and in the construction of public buildings, public service network and facilities as compared with those before Dec. 19.

Soldier builders are accelerating water-proofing, conduit laying and final stage work by displaying the spirit of fierce offensive.

Members of a shock brigade under the youth league central committee construction group are fulfilling their daily quotas while builders of the Ryongsan construction group have successfully finished inside plastering of ground floor service facilities.

Work is going full steam ahead at construction sites of public buildings and service networks.

More signal successes are being reported from the construction sites there thanks to the high-pitched drive of officials and builders to loyally uphold the leadership of Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea.
