Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Federation of Women's Organizations and the Women's Society for Achieving Peace Thursday sent a message to the Democratic Women's Union of Korea to mourn the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The message expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il and extended sympathy to the women in the north in grief.

The exploits Kim Jong Il performed by dedicating himself to peace and reunification will remain long, it said.

It hoped that cooperation between women of the south and the north would be intensified.
