Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Media of various countries carried special write-ups on the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th anniversary of birth of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

The December issue of the Chinese Hong Kong magazine International Relations devoted its four pages to an article illustrated with photos of Kim Jong Il acknowledging the cheers of military paraders and inspecting a unit of the KPA.

The magazine noted in an article Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the KPA was a historic event of great significance in defending and glorifying socialism.

It recalled that Kim Jong Il developed the KPA into a matchless army and turned the DPRK into a military power which no one dares provoke, foiling the moves of the imperialist allied forces to stifle it under the uplifted banner of Songun.

Thanks to this powerful military capability the people of the DPRK have dynamically pushed forward the building of a thriving socialist nation despite the ceaseless challenges and military threats of the hostile forces including the U.S., it stressed.

The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy posted on its Internet homepage an article titled "Peerless woman commander" accompanied by photos of Kim Jong Suk on Dec. 23.

The life of Kim Jong Suk was the one of an outstanding woman revolutionary and a genuine patriot who devotedly defended the ideas and safety of President Kim Il Sung and dedicated herself to the bright future of the country and nation, it said.

The Cambodian paper Pracheachon on Dec. 22 carried a photo of the woman commander of Mt. Paektu and noted she is highly lauded not only by the Korean people but by the world people.
