Foreign Personages and Regional Organization Mourn Demise of Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Personages of various countries and a regional organization issued statements between Dec. 20 and 22 on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the General Union of Syrian Peasants in a statement expressed most profound condolences over the demise of Kim Jong Il and hoped that the relations between the peasants' unions of the two countries would steadily grow stronger.

The chairperson of the General Federation of Syrian Women said Kim Jong Il led the struggle against imperialism to victory, making an undying contribution to socialism, and steered the DPRK to prosperity.

Zaher al Khatib, secretary general of the Lebanon Federation of Workers, said the WPK and the Korean people would certainly overcome grief over the loss of their leader under Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The president of the International Taekwon-Do Association in Ethiopia said that Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the development of the friendly relations between the Ethiopian people and the Korean people in his lifetime.

The Secretary General of the Arab Union of Peasants praised Kim Jong Il as a great leader who devoted all his life to the progress and prosperity of the Korean people and rendered assistance, material and moral, to Arab countries, indicating the road of victory in the struggle against imperialism and Zionism.
