Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, sent a large wreath to the DPRK embassy in Hanoi over the passing away of leader Kim Jong Il.

Authorized by the general secretary, Hoang Binh Quan, chairman of the Commission for External Affairs of the party Central Committee, Ho Mau Ngoat, assistant to the general secretary, and its other leadership members paid a condolatory visit to the DPRK embassy and placed the large wreath before the portrait of Kim Jong Il and paid silent tribute to him on Dec. 25.

The chairman once again expressed the deepest condolences, hoping that the party and people of the DPRK would overcome bitter sorrow with strength and courage and register bigger successes in their drive to build a thriving nation.

They made entries in the mourners' book.
