Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- The deputy regional secretary of Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party sent a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on Dec. 20 on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Expressing deepest condolences on the demise of Kim Jong Il, the message said that the world movement for liberation and peace lost the most prominent fighter who had defended the people's right from highhanded practices and supremacy by the world imperialists.

The Baath Arab Socialist Party and the Syrian people are sharing the sorrow at the loss of the greatest person with the Korean people, it said, affirming the will to boost the ties of friendship and cooperation in the struggle to meet the challenge Syria and the DPRK are facing.
