Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- A Brazilian Internet newspaper on Dec. 25 posted an account of the paper's interview with the Brazilian ambassador to the DPRK on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Upon hearing the sad news of the demise of Kim Jong Il, the Korean people could hardly keep back their sorrow over his demise, the paper said, noting this sadness of the Korean people was sincerest.

Kim Jong Il enjoyed the highest respect and boundless reverence from the people, it said, adding:

The issue of succession to leadership was successfully solved in the DPRK. This is clearly proved by the fact that HE Kim Jong Un assumed the heavy responsibility as vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK last year.

Brazil will maintain friendly relations with the DPRK in all fields and positively support the Korean people in their efforts to achieve national reunification.
