Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- National memorial service for Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, began in Pyongyang.

Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and supreme leader of the party, state and army of the DPRK, took the platform.
