Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- The International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions held an emergency joint meeting on Dec. 25 on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il.

A wreath in the name of the organization was placed. It decided to inaugurate the East European and Central Asian Regional Committee to Memorize Comrade Kim Jong Il and hold diverse memorial events praising his revolutionary career and exploits.

Elena Bavichi, chairwoman of Kim Jong Suk Women's Union of Russia, was elected chairwoman of the committee.
