Memorial Events Held Abroad

Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- Memorial events were held in different countries from December 23 to 27 on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il. They included memorial meetings held by the Bangladesh People's League, the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea, the Bangladesh Group for the Study of the Songun Policy and the International Taekwon-do Federation of Mongolia, memorial events that took place in Kiev and Mariupol Cities, Ukraine and memorial services held in Indonesia, Nepal, Iran and Mongolia. The brief biography of revolutionary activities of Kim Jong Il was introduced and speeches were made at the memorial meetings. The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Jong Il. Speakers included Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladeshi People's League, M. Gamrul Huda, chairman of the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea, and M. Jahangir Khan, chairman of the Bangladesh Group for the Study of the Songun Policy. They highly praised Kim Jong Il as the leader who made an undying contribution to accomplishing the human cause of independence. The general chairperson of the National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia said that the demise of Kim Jong Il is the greatest loss to the Workers' Party, the government and the people of the DPRK, adding that he will live forever in the hearts of the world progressives. The chairman of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea who is chairman of the Ukrainian Committee for Mourning Comrade Kim Jong Il noted that thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il the Korean People's Army could powerfully show its might as an invincible army to the world. The chairman of the Association for the Study of the Songun Politics in Mariupol City of Ukraine stressed that the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il before the Korean and world revolutions would shine forever. The greatest exploit performed by Kim Jong Il is that he fully ensured the succession to the leadership, the vice-chairman of the Association in Mariupol City said. |
