Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un received a condolatory message from Ahmad Hassan, general secretary of the Nasser Arab Democratic Party of Egypt, on Dec. 25.

Noting that he learnt the unexpected news that leader Kim Jong Il passed away, the message said:

Comrade Kim Jong Il, upholding the banner of independence and socialism, struggled for independence of the DPRK and supported the world people standing against the moves of the U.S.-led imperialists and racists.

He strived for prosperity of the DPRK and the welfare of the Korean people under the situation in which the world people's struggle for independent and dignified life was going through turns and twists.

When some countries were following the U.S. and the imperialist policy, he fought for peace and people's independence, adhering to the principle and pushed ahead with socialist construction despite the waves of adversity.
