S. Korea Accused of Disallowing Condolatory Visits to Pyongyang

Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- The Women's Solidarity of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday denouncing the authorities for preventing it from making a condolatory visit to Pyongyang to mourn the passing of leader Kim Jong Il.

The organization said that it is quite just to express sympathy over the passing of Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il and make a condolatory visit to the north, but the south Korean authorities disapproved the visit till the moment the funeral started in Pyongyang.

Branding it as an act against humanity, the organization continued:

Had the authorities expressed heartfelt sympathy to the government and compatriots of the north who were overcome with sorrow over the loss of their leader, it would have offered an opportunity for restoring the trust between the south and the north and sent "government" and civilian-level mourners' group to Pyongyang.

The authorities, however, missed the good opportunity.

This proved that no one can expect peace and reunification under the present "government" as it defies the people's demand for getting the danger of a war removed and living on a peaceful land.

The women's organization declared it would wage more vigorous campaign for judging the "government" which bedeviled the south-north relations and destabilized the people's life while standing against reunification.
