Foreign Personages Issue Statements

Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- Personages of various countries issued statements on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il. Jose Armando Rodriguez, chairman of Central Committee of the Socialist Party of Mexico, in his statement on December 25 noted Kim Jong Il's life was the most brilliant one of a great revolutionary who explored a rugged untrodden path with iron will and superhuman energy, holding high the red flag of revolution and of a peerless patriot who devoted his all to the country and its people. Dmitri Kostenko, chairman of the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, in his statement on December 26 said Kim Jong Il was an outstanding thinker and theoretician, a brilliant strategist and a prominent statesman in the present century. The acting chairman of the Revolutionary Youth Union of Syria in a statement on the same day noted the youth and people of the DPRK would turn sorrow into strength and courage and steadily advance along the way indicated by Kim Jong Il in his lifetime and surely accomplish the national reunification and the cause of building a thriving nation under the guidance of Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK. The mayor of Yangon City of Myanmar in a statement on December 27 lauded Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, conducted energetic activities for socialism, the cause of justice and the world peace and security and made a great contribution to the development of friendship, unity and cooperative ties between the peoples of the two countries. The general director of the Ministry of Sports of Myanmar who doubles as the secretary general of its Olympic Committee noted in his statement on December 22 the ideas and exploits of Kim Jong Il will be immortal as the DPRK is under its supreme leader Kim Jong Un. |
