Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Chinese local party and power bodies and people in their messages expressed deep condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

The Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Liaoning People's Government said that Kim Jong Il was a close friend of the Chinese people, those of Liaoning Province in particular.

He forged close ties of feelings with the Liaoning provincial people and promoted the development of the Sino-DPRK friendly relations, they noted, adding that the Liaoning provincial party, government and people in bitter grief at the demise of Kim Jong Il will always miss him.

The Dandong City Committee of the CPC and the Dandong City People's Government noted that Kim Jong Il passed through Dandong City whenever he visited China, adding that his resonant voice and bright smile are deeply cherished in the hearts of the city people.
