Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Chinese media reported the performances of opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" given by the group of artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe of the DPRK in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China.

Newspapers, radios and Internet homepages appreciated the loyalty and strong spirit of the members of the group who continued successful performance tour to glorify the undying feats of leader Kim Jong Il though they were overcome with grief at the great loss of the nation.

The Dec. 23rd issue of Changgang Ribao carried an article titled "Korean opera 'Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai' continues performance tour in China". It said the music has become a powerful means of arousing the masses to the building of a thriving socialist nation in the DPRK, adding the country advances the times and history by music politics.

This music politics was set out by Kim Jong Il, supreme leader of the DPRK, it noted.

Internet homepage Chinese Paper Website on Dec. 23 in an article "Members of the group of Korean opera 'Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai' mourn the demise of General Kim Jong Il in tears" praised him as a genius of music.

He provided concrete guidance to the opera ranging from its libretto, music, dance, stage decor to acting of actors and actresses, the article noted.

Lanzhou Ribao on Dec. 25 said very high is the depiction of the performance as it is given with peculiar stage decor and melodies easy to follow and beautiful to ears as well as songs and dances.

Lanzhou Sinbao, Lanzhou Wanbao, Gansu Provincial TV and Lanzhou TV gave wide publicity on several consecutive days to the group's arrival and performances in Lanzhou.
