Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Memorial services for leader Kim Jong Il took place in different countries on Dec. 28 and 29.

Attending them were personages of the Russian preparatory committee to commemorate the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the Romanian Socialist Union, the Poland-Korea Association, the Guinean National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Guinean Group for the Study of Kimjongilism, the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea, the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in Conakry of Guinea, the Ethiopian Youth Study Group of the Juche Idea and the Addis Ababa Youth Association of Ethiopia and popular masses.

Memorial addresses and speeches were made at the services.

The chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union said that Kim Jong Il was an iron-willed brilliant commander who perfectly and creditably carried forward the revolutionary cause of Kim Il Sung and honored the dignity of the DPRK with his original Songun politics while giving the imperialists the creeps.

The chairman of the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association said that Kim Jong Il was an outstanding leader and a great man whom the world progressives have ardently revered, while venerating Kim Il Sung. There were many politicians in the world but Kim Jong Il was the only politician who lived all his life while providing field guidance day and night to bring happiness to the people.

The chairman of the Guinean National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea noted Kim Jong Il provided the progressive mankind with scientific faith and an invincible ideological and theoretical weapon.

Meanwhile, the International Kim Il Sung Fund, China Hong Kong Zhonghua Energy Fund Commission, Golden Trip Travel Service Co. Ltd., Hong Kong and other Chinese companies held memorial services for Kim Jong Il on Dec. 29.
