Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea received a message of condolences from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Syria on Dec. 19.

The C.C., the Communist Party of Syria expressed most profound condolences over the demise of Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the WPK, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

The message expressed belief that the Korean people will continue advancing along the road of anti-imperialism and gaining successes in their struggle for the prosperity and development under the leadership of the WPK.
