News of Kim Jong Un's Assumption of KPA Supreme Commandership Reported by Foreign Media

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- The news that Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, assumed the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army in accordance with the October 8, 2011behests of leader Kim Jong Il was reported by foreign media on Dec. 31.

Xinhua said: The meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held in Pyongyang on Dec. 30 proclaimed that Kim Jong Un assumed the supreme commandership of the KPA according to the behests of supreme leader Kim Jong Il on October 8, 2011.

The meeting adopted the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK "On Effecting a Great Surge in Building a Thriving Nation True to the Behests of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il".
