Korean People Greet New Year, Missing Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have seen the year 2011 out and the New Year in with bitter grief at the loss of the great father of the nation. They have laid bouquets before large portraits of Kim Jong Il with a broad smile on his face set up in all parts of the country, recollecting the revolutionary life of the leader, who passed away after energetically working for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people. They also resolve to defend and glorify his great revolutionary exploits. Displayed in streets are slogans reflecting the strong will of the soldiers and people to implement the behests of Kim Jong Il, like "Let us change grief into strength and courage and faithfully uphold our great party!" and posters. Also seen is the slogan of the joint New Year editorial "Glorify this year 2012 as a year of proud victory, a year when an era of prosperity is unfolding, true to the instructions of the great General Kim Jong Il." The Korean people are full of determination to achieve a proud victory in this year's effort for building a thriving nation, closely rallied around Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea, army and people. |
