Present there were Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok and other senior officials and masses from all walks of life, more than 100 000 in all.

Mun Kyong Dok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., WPK and chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, noted in his report at the rally that the whole party and army and all the people have turned out in the grand advance for the new centenary of the Juche era with high pride of having the dear respected Kim Jong Un as the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army after seeing out the year 2011 in tears of blood.

He said:

Last year radical changes and leap forward took place in the building of a prosperous and powerful nation under the energetic guidance of leader Kim Jong Il and the 100-year history of the Juche era was brought to a close resplendently.

As long as there are the invincible Party, army and state developed by Kim Jong Il, the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un and the excellent people supporting their leaders faithfully through generations, the cause of building a thriving country is sure to emerge victorious.

Calling upon all the people to cherish the absolute faith that Kim Jong Il will always be with us and glorify his revolutionary life and feats forever and thoroughly implement his behests, the reporter further said:

All the officials, party members and other working people should devotedly defend Kim Jong Un and remain loyal to his idea and leadership.

The light industry and agriculture should produce quality goods in a larger quantity and make leap forward in the overall agricultural production in order to bring about a decisive turn in improving the people's living standard. The electric-power and coal-mining industries should make breakthrough for grand advance through the production charge under the flames of Hamnam.

All sectors and units should fiercely flare up the flames of industrial revolution in the new century to push back the frontiers of technology and accelerate the drive for putting the national economy on a Juche-oriented, modern and scientific basis.

Capital builders and all the citizens in Pyongyang should complete the construction in the Mansudae area and other major projects on the highest level and effect a radical turn in urban management and landscaping, thus ushering in a new heyday of Pyongyang.

Taking the floor at the rally were Pak Hyong Ryol, manager of the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, Kim Yong Bok, chairwoman of the management board of the Mangyongdae Vegetable Farm, Ri Ung Il, first secretary of the youth league committee of Kim Il Sung University, and Ri Won Chol, vice-president of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

They vowed to carry through the above-said decision, the joint calls and the tasks laid down in the joint New Year editorial with the conviction that the Korean people will surely emerge victorious under the guidance of Kim Jong Un.
