On display there are more than 5.9 million consumer goods of some 2 800 varieties produced by hundreds of factories and enterprises, work-teams for the production of consumer goods through the utilization of various materials available in the field of commercial service, units of joint venture and collaboration, etc. across the country.

Some 70 more units took part in the exhibition and some 1 400 more varieties of products were put on display than the previous exhibition.

This exhibition was opened at the instruction given by leader Kim Jong Il to hold the next exhibition on a larger-scale to be more significant, while looking round the second commodity exhibition last July.

An opening ceremony of the exhibition was held on Tuesday.

Present there were Vice-Premier Ri Mu Yong, Minister of Commerce Kim Pong Chol, officials concerned and officials of ministries, national institutions and units for the supply of commodities and working people.

Ri Mu Yong made an inaugural speech.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants went round the exhibition.

They posed for a long while before the new products made of Juche fibre including vinalon blanket and clothing materials, apple cider and apple perfume, recollecting Kim Jong Il who considered the joy of people as his happiness.
