"All national brethren residing in the territory of Myanmar sacrificed lives in the struggle to win the independence," the New Light of Myanmar said in its editorial, stressing that to safeguard the independence is the duty of all the people who are to uphold three main national causes--non-disintegration of the union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty for perpetuity of independence of Myanmar.
