The country is faced with major tasks for this year to implement the decision of the 9th Congress of the Party and the 7th Five-Year Plan for socio-economic development and, for the present, tasks to eradicate the aftermath of last year's flood damage and stabilize the people's living, the editorial said.

In order to achieve successes in all work it is necessary to strengthen the Party and develop the economy in a balanced way, it said, calling on all the people to strive to invariably advance along the road of socialism chosen by them long before.
