The participants vowed to carry through the decision of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, the joint calls of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the militant tasks laid down in the joint New Year editorial as well as to respond to the letter of the South Hamgyong provincial working people.

Reporters and speakers called on all sectors and units to perform miracles and innovations and take the lead in the on-going general offensive, true to the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il.

Officials and working people in the field of the light industry should ensure the full capacity operation of all light industrial factories and produce in larger amounts quality goods which would cater to the people's tastes and are welcomed by them, thus contributing to improving the people's livelihood, they said.

They also urged officials and working people in the field of agriculture to accept advanced farming method, properly choose high-yielding seeds and fully promote the farming with the use of organic fertilizer, thus remarkably increasing overall agricultural production.

Intellectuals should raise higher the flame of the industrial revolution in the new century and the flame of Hamnam (South Hamgyong Province) to further develop the agricultural science and technology suited to the DPRK's specific conditions and thus contribute to the present general onward advance by intelligence and technologies, they urged.

They called upon all the party members and other working people to unite behind the dear respected Kim Jong Un and carry on the dynamic drive to glorify this year as a year of proud victory and prosperity to be recorded in the glorious history of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea.
