A spokesman for the Russian Navy on Jan. 7 said that the navy is planning to build multipurpose strategic nuclear subs and upgrade the composition of the diesel-powered subs.

Under the plan the Russian navy envisages the possession of 8-10 latest diesel subs up till 2020.

Those subs will be rigged with elements ensuring stealth and independent voyage.
