President of Niger Assigns New Year Tasks to Soldiers

| Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Mahamadou Issoufou, president of Niger, in a New Year address on Jan. 5 assigned the service personnel the tasks to protect the lives and properties of the people and preserve the environment. It is the most patriotic work before the servicepersons, he said, calling them a backbone of the country. Only when the backbone is reliable, can the state meet all the potential challenges, he added. He stressed the need to further consolidate the unity and cohesion within the army, increase its operational and information-gathering capacities, introduce the sophisticated hardware and intensify training. |
