The slogan calling for devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution has become famous in the country since August 25, Juche 49 (1960) when leader Kim Jong Il started his Songun (military-first) revolutionary leadership.

That day he inspected the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army (KPA). Seeing the slogan "Let us defend with our very lives the Party Central Committee headed by the respected Comrade Kim Il Sung!" hung on the front wall of the soldiers' hall, he said it reflected the unshakable faith of the Korean people and servicepersons.

He, regarding it as an issue decisive of the revolutionary cause of Juche to defend the headquarters of the revolution at the cost of one's life, continued inspection tours of KPA units to bring up the servicepersons to be the revolutionary soldiers infinitely loyal to President Kim Il Sung.

Under his leadership, the KPA was strengthened into the army of the leader and the Party.

Devotedly defending the headquarters of revolution still remains the revolutionary mission and the lifeline of the KPA.

The Korean revolutionary armed forces are determined to be faithful to the leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un in national defense and building of a thriving nation.
