We support the joint editorial which reflected the will of the DPRK and the Korean people to invariably inherit the ideas and the causes of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the statement said, and went on:

The struggle of the Korean people to implement the tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial is greatly inspiring us.

We will work hard to boost the traditional Russia-DPRK friendship.

We call upon the world peace-loving people to extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their cause of achieving peace and prosperity by their own efforts, while standing in confrontation with imperialism.

Meanwhile, the C.C., Socialist Popular Party of Mexico, the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Federal Leadership of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation, the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna, the Franken Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Germany, the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Ethiopian Youth Study Group of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued statements on Jan. 2 and 3 in support of the joint New Year editorial.
