DPRK Farms Introduce Advanced Production System
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Cooperative farms in the DPRK are now paying efforts to introducing the cyclic production system and the organic farming method in response to the call of the joint New Year editorial.

Choe Hyon Su, a department director of the Ministry of Agriculture, told KCNA that modern stockbreeding bases have appeared in all parts of the country, providing good conditions of cyclic production between farming and stockbreeding.

"Organic compound fertilizer factories are keeping the production going on a high level," he said, and went on:

"Many farms have introduced advanced farming methods and techniques, like weeding and manuring rice fields with mud snails and preventing crop damage by blight and insects with biopesticide.

The Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and other fruit farms have benefited much from the cyclic production system in the fruit production.

The Taedonggang Pig Farm produces large quantities of organic fertilizers, increasing the fertility of orchards.

The Migok Cooperative Farm in Sariwon City, Jangsan Cooperative Farm in Ryongchon County and many other farms in the country have also produced organic fertilizers extensively.

The farms owe their achievements to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, who had always paid deep concern to the development of agriculture.

The officials in the field of agriculture are determined to boost grain output with the help of the cyclic production system between farming and stockbreeding and organic farming method."
