The song tells that the image of Kim Jong Il, which is as bright as the sun, is always cherished in the hearts of the people and that his great exploits will be conveyed through generations.

As soon as it was created, the song began enjoying a great popularity in the country.

An officer of the Korean People's Army, Ko Song Il, told KCNA that the song reflects the Korean people's determination to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal leader of Kim Il Sung's Korea.

An official of the C.C., the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, Song Hyon Sun, said, "The song deeply moves me to tears. It reminds me of the tireless efforts General Secretary Kim Jong Il made in his lifetime for the happiness of the people. I think the song truthfully represents the desire of the Korean people."
