Kim Jong Il in his work said that the history of the WPK is that of the Juche revolution started and led by President Kim Il Sung and a glorious one in which the revolutionary cause of the President has been carried forward and accomplished generation after generation.

Noting that there have been proud victories and achievements in the sacred struggle for implementing the behests of the President but a lot of work still remains to be done and a thorny path has to be covered, he stressed that the historic conditions and the environment of the times when the desire was expressed to erect his statue on his 60th birthday were not the same as those when greeting the 60th birthday of the President.

To erect his statue is contrary to his intention to carry forward the revolutionary cause of the President with communist moral obligation and the faith of the Korean people, Kim Jong Il noted, adding:

If I achieve the reunification of the country by carrying forward the revolutionary cause of the President, the people will build the statue even if no proposal is made by anyone. This would be appropriate in the light of the communist moral obligation and would make me feel honorable and proud of making revolution before the people.

Recalling that in his lifetime the President told him to lead the party and revolution with his own ability, Kim Jong Il said as instructed by the President, he had led the WPK for the last more than three decades since he started his work at the WPK Central Committee and defended the country, revolution and socialism with Songun revolutionary leadership, keeping hold on the army when the revolution was undergoing a stern trial after the demise of the President.

In order to accomplish the revolutionary cause of the President, it is necessary to be true to the intention of the leader, successor to his cause, Kim Jong Il stressed.

Noting that he had an idea of erecting a monument to the youth well, he stressed that the young people have played an important role in every period and at every stage of the revolution.

He underscored the need to do all things including the issue of statue in line with the idea and intention of the leader with true fidelity to him.
