18th Memorial Service for Rev. Mun Ik Hwan Held in S. Korea

Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- The 18th memorial service for Rev. Mun Ik Hwan was held in Kyonggi Province of south Korea on Jan. 14. Present there were bereaved families of the reverend, members of civic and public organizations and personages of different circles. Kim Hui Son, director of the "Embracing National Reunification", Ri Kang Sil, permanent co-representative of the Solidarity for Progress, Kwon O Hon, honorary chairman of the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, and others made speeches. The speakers looked back upon the positive efforts made by Mun for national reunification. They said that the reunification which he was yearning so ardently has not yet come true due to the Lee Myung Bak's "government" and the "Grand National Party". They said that people from all walks of life would get united to put an end to the confrontation policy of the Lee Myung Bak's "government" against the fellow countrymen and implement the June 15 joint declaration and thus achieve peaceful reunification. |
