Present at the inaugural ceremony were Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, Hessou Kohovi, chairman of Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" and Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and of General Kim Jong Il's Work, the rector of Cotonou Institute of Journalism of Benin and other personages of various circles.

The chairman of the Party said that Kim Jong Il was a distinguished thinker and theoretician and statesman of the century who perfectly embodied the personality and quality as a great man and led the Korean revolution and global independence with his profound ideas and theories and unusual leadership.

The rector of the Institute noted the life-long intention, desire and ideal of Kim Jong Il would come true and Feb. 16 be eternally commemorated as the Day of the Shining Star as there is Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, outstanding leader of the Korean people.

Ali Houdou was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee discussed to significantly hold colorful functions including meeting, seminar and film show on the occasion and thus make the hot wind of praising Kim Jong Il sweep across Benin.
