Indian newspaper Defence and Humanity said: The editorial called New Year, Juche 101 (2012) the year when leader Kim Jong Il's plan for achieving prosperity will bear a brilliant fruit, the year of a grand march when a new century of President Kim Il Sung's Korea begins.

The editorial stressed the need to vigorously launch an all-out drive to carry out the grand strategy of the Workers' Party of Korea for achieving prosperity, glorify the DPRK as a highly civilized, socialist country and consolidate the national defence capabilities in every way under the unfurled banner of Songun, the paper said.

The Internet homepage of the Brazilian Communist Party said the DPRK set forth a goal for 2012 and put forward the reunification of the country as the greatest national task assigned to the present generation by publishing the joint New Year editorial.

A newspaper of Russia, newspaper of the Czech Republic Halo Noviny and Mexican magazine Siempre carried the gist of the joint New Year editorial.
