In his work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification", Kim Jong Il systematized the President's exploits for reunification in a comprehensive way.

He formulated the three principles of national reunification, the 10-point programme of great national unity and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, provided by the President, as the Three Charters for National Reunification which serve as the only programme to be consistently adhered to and applied in the Koreans' movement for reunification.

One of his great feats for national reunification is that he added brilliance to the President's idea on reunification and leadership exploits for it along with the era of independent reunification.

He provided the historic Pyongyang meeting and summit talks between the north and the south of Korea, for the first time in the history of the national division, and gave birth to the joint declaration the core of which is national independence.

Thus, the cause of national reunification further developed without any frustration as the cause of Kim Il Sung who started and guided it. This is the great feat of Kim Jong Il.
