The ministry said that the sanctions are, in essence, an attempt to stifle the economy of Iran and an open pressure upon this country.

The strengthened sanctions on Iran have nothing to deal with settlement of its nuclear issue and any pressure can never bring a solution to any issue, it stressed.

It declared again the stand of Russia that the issues over Iran's nuclear program should be solved through political and diplomatic means, by way of dialogue respecting each other.
